The Veikkausliiga League has thirteen teams playing each against one another home and away. If two or more teams are tied on points after the second phase and if they are playing for the league championship, the top two teams will play home and away for the league championship. The Eurocup ruling on away team goals will be observed in these rematches. The last team in the League (13th) will be relegated to Division One.
